ENBD has partnered with MasterCard international to bring you the GlobalCash Card - a chip and PIN protected prepaid MasterCard which can hold up to 15 currencies.

You can load the currencies onto the card and use it for online purchases or to pay for goods and services at around 35 million merchants worldwide, or use millions of ATMs globally to access your money quickly and safely. You can also use the card with Apple Pay and Samsung Pay for contactless payments.

  • The card automatically selects the currency to match your transaction based on the currencies fixed hierarchy
  • All purses are active even with a zero balance, so if you have insufficient funds in a particular currency to pay for a transaction, the balance of the transaction will automatically be deducted from any other available currencies
  • Free 24x7 emergency services for cash requirements and card replacement via the MasterCard call centre on 8000440628 
  • Purchase protection against damage or theft of qualifying card purchases for up to 90 days from date of purchase
  • Card fraud protection against fraud either due to loss or theft of the card while travelling

How it works

In case of insufficient funds for a particular currency during a transaction, your Global Cash Card will automatically deduct it from any other available currencies. The hierarchy for the currencies in your card is as follows - AED, USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD, INR, SAR, PHP, ZAR, TRY, THB, LKR, CHF, PKR.

Only UAE residents can apply for a Global Cash Card. The card can be reloaded at any time.

Only those with a valid Emirates NBD Personal account are eligible for a GlobalCash Card.

If you’re in the UAE, visit any of our branches before 2pm. You can also call the MasterCard call center on 800 044 0628 (from the UAE) or +44-207-649-9404 (internationally) for an emergency card replacement.

No, but there is an add-on card which can be issued only along with the primary card. This acts as a mirror/duplicate card. Add-on cards can only be requested during card issuance. If you require an add-on card after your card has been issued, you’ll need to cancel your existing card and apply for a new one.

The GlobalCash Card is valid for 5 years.

You need to be at least 18 years old to apply for a GlobalCash Card.

Please call +971 600 540000 and have the following details at hand: the machine ID, location, amount, time, date, GlobalCash card number, your Emirates NBD or Emirates Islamic Bank account.

If you don’t have accounts at these banks, mention the bank and branch from where you would like to collect the money.

If you can’t see your GlobalCash Card in your online and mobile banking profile, please call us on +971 600 540000 and follow the instructions. Your request will be processed within 3 days.

Written notice of a claim must be submitted no later than 30 days from the date of the incident to avoid your claim being denied.

It takes 1 to 2 days depending on the location and proximity of courier companies.
