Tanfeeth drives Emiratization agenda with expansion of Khorfakkan office

At Emirates NBD Group, we have recognized the significance of Emiritization and have implemented various initiatives to enhance the participation and development of Emirati employees.

One of the strategic initiatives we have rolled out was setting up an Operations hub in Khorfakkan back in 2017 when Emirates Islamic & Tanfeeth signed an MoU with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) to hire 11 Emirati mothers as part-time employees to create employment opportunities for our Emiratis the area.

We are very pleased to now share that we have converted all 11 Emiratis who have all been with us since 2017 into full time employment. Today these UAE Nationals are part of our Payments & Accounts Services team and are involved in Cheque Clearing and part of the Tanfeeth Service Center for Emirates Islamic.

Along with this great news, we have also recently expanded our Khorfakkan offices into a new location, and this has enabled us to embrace more Emirati talent to grow our business function and maintain stakeholder management within the area.

The new Khorfakkan office required a great deal of thought, research and consideration to support our goal of creating a skilled and sustainable banking workforce that reflects the diversity of the UAE population and ensures career opportunities and professional growth for Emirati citizens.

For Tanfeeth, the new Khorfakkan office is an opportunity to enhance co-ordination amongst branch and Operations staff. It also promotes a higher level of customer service with Emirati-prioritization along with sharing a closer interaction especially with our Emirates Islamic stakeholders. This allows talent to grow within the organization, empowering employees to be well-versed in multiple banking areas including payments, compliance, and customer service.

The small powerhouse of 11 hopes to grow in the near future and their unique perspectives and insights will help contribute to the bank’s operations and decision-making processes, ultimately making an impact and stamping our identity on a region-wide scale.
