Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today announced that the Emirates NBD Million Dirham Putt is back for the second year running, with amateur golfers from across Dubai and beyond competing to win AED 1,000,000 cash; a prize the likes of which Dubai has never seen won.

Dubai, 28 November, 2016: Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today announced that the Emirates NBD Million Dirham Putt is back for the second year running, with amateur golfers from across Dubai and beyond competing to win AED 1,000,000 cash; a prize the likes of which Dubai has never seen won.

The Emirates NBD Million Dirham Putt campaign, which is organised in conjunction with the bank’s sponsorship of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, is designed to replicate the tension and rewards of professional golf for amateur players in a fun and inclusive golfing experience.

Commencing Monday (November 28, 2016) on JBR’s ‘The Beach’, the unique nine-hole putting contest will see the UAE general public put to the ultimate test, with beginner’s luck often beating the more skilled contestants. Competitors will putt their way around nine holes whilst aiming to obtain the lowest possible score across the competition.

Unlike the inaugural 2015 event where daily winners were chosen to compete in the final, the 2016 event will see all participants added to an ongoing leaderboard across the waves (dates listed below), with the top ten contestants qualifying for the grand final at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, with one winner further qualifying for the all-important million dirham putt.

The single contestant who qualifies from the grand final will putt-to-win on the ninth green of the world-renowned Majlis Course at the Emirates Golf Club. The 60ft putt will be made live in front of thousands of spectators and televised to millions of viewers around the globe. If the contestant successfully makes the putt, they will walk away with AED 1,000,000 cash. In the event the

putt is not made, the contestant will still be victorious with a golfing trip for two to Southeast Asia.

Contestants will be able to take part in any of the qualifying waves below and are able to enter the competition more than once, however on different days.
