Telegraphic Transfer is one of the remitting products which allows customers to transfer money locally and internationally in any remitting currency via Swift.
Multiple banking channels are enabled for Telegraphic Transfer including Emirates NBD branches, Online Banking, and ATMs. IVR can be used only for registered beneficiaries.
Telegraphic Transfer fees vary due to various factors such as amount, currency, correspondent Bank involved, selection of charge code and Channel used.
The prevailing exchange rate will be displayed on Online Banking or smartBUSINESS at the time of performing the transaction. In branches, the staff will advise the clients the applicable rate of the selected currency.
Special rates are subject to meeting the minimum threshold amount. The minimum threshold amount to obtain a special rate approval for USD/AED is AED 500,000. For other than USD/AED the minimum threshold amount is AED 100,000.

Priority Banking and Business Banking clients will need to request their respective Relationship Managers to get the special rate for their transactions.
Personal banking clients can request the Head Teller in Branches to obtain a special rate.
Required information depends on the beneficiary country, in general, account number/IBAN & SWIFT codes are mandatory for all.
Cut off times varies depending on the currency and the channel used. Please find the cut off times for major currencies for Telegraphic Transfer as follows:
If the Telegraphic transfer request is submitted prior to the cut off times, transaction requests will be processed the same day.
Note: If the telegraphic transfer request is submitted post the cut off times, prevailing exchange rate of the next working day will apply.
You can remit funds to any country except Sanctioned countries.
Segment limits are applicable for Online Banking transfers as mentioned below:
There is no limit for requests submitted in the Branches.
Telegraphic Transfer Application which contains all mandatory information will be processed on the same day. Value date of the Transfer is based on the currency cutoff time, and public holidays.
2 to 3 working days are set as the turnaround time for processing Telegraphic Transfers. However, incomplete applications or requests which require further details would be processed after obtaining the required details.
Remitters have the option to choose who shall claim Telegraphic Transfer charges including Emirates NBD, Correspondent and Beneficiary Bank Charges.
Beneficiary ("Receiver") will be liable to pay all related charges if Remitters ("Sender") selects "BEN" option. The amount will be deducted from the remitting amount.
Remitter ("Sender") will pay all said charges if he/she selects "OUR".
Charges will be shared with the Remitter ("Sender") and Beneficiary ("Receiver") if charge code "SHA" is selected.
Selecting charge code OUR will ensure that recipients shall receive the entire amount except for countries who do not have a charge-back system such as United States of America (USA).
As per the US banking practice, payments sent with charge Code "OUR" are re-classified into charge code "SHA" as in there is a fee deduction when funds are transferred between banks in the US. This is a not a duplicate charge; the Beneficiary ("Receiver") may expect an additional deduction from the funds received for settlement of any pending correspondent(s) bank charge(s). The charges may vary depending upon the fees & charges of the respective correspondent bank(s).
A confirmation will be sent from Emirates NBD to the registered Remitter's email address once the amount is debited from the account.
Customers are required to ensure accuracy of details provided prior to submitting the transfer request. If customers would like to stop or cancel any transfer sent then he/she can contact the Emirates NBD call center to raise the cancelation request. Exchange loss amount, if any, shall be levied in such cases.
Customers are able to raise a standing instruction request for future/ recurring transfers every week/ month based on their choice. To setup a future dated telegraphic transfer or recurring telegraphic transfer, you can either visit your nearest branch as per your convenience or perform the same via Online Banking. Applicable charges vary based on the customer segment. Please refer to the Schedule of Charges for more details.
For standing instruction request submitted in branches, customers are required to visit the branch and submit the standing instruction amendment form for amendment requests.
For standing instructions scheduled via Online banking, customers need to login to Online Banking --> Select the Transfer option --> Select Standing Instruction. Amendment option will be displayed against each scheduled Standing instruction.
International Bank Account Number (IBAN) which comprises of 23 digits. Client can check their IBAN on Online Banking or contact Emirates NBD Call Center for assistance.

You will need to inform the Remitter to notify the Sender bank to check the status of the transaction to provide revised instructions of Telegraphic recall or amendment if possible.
