UAE Minister of State Dr Sultan Al Jaber Holds Meeting with Emirates NBD Egypt Board

Cairo, 6 July 2014 - Emirates NBD Egypt, a subsidiary of Emirates NBD the leading banking group in the region, hosted a meeting with Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dr. Al Jaber’s meeting was held with the bank’s Members of the Board of Directors headed by Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Chairman of Emirates NBD Egypt, Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Board Member Emirates NBD Egypt and Shayne Nelson, Group CEO Emirates NBD Group. The meeting was also attended by Giel-Jan M. Van Der Tol, CEO Emirates NBD Egypt, Abdulla Qassem, Group Chief Operating Officer Emirates NBD and Board Member Emirates NBD Egypt, Shahinaz Foda, Deputy Managing Director Emirates NBD Egypt, and Saod Obaidalla, Head of Onshore and Royal Accounts Emirates NBD Group.

During the meeting, the attendees discussed the important role the banking sector plays in the stability and growth of the Egyptian economy, and the investment opportunities available for UAE investors in the country. Members of the Board of Directors of Emirates NBD Egypt highlighted their positive experience in Egypt and reiterated the bank’s ambitious plans for the future. Dr. Al Jaber explored with the attendees areas of potential cooperation particularly in relation to investments in development projects which reflect the UAE’s support to the Egyptian economy.
