Before making a transfer, you should have:

Your latest home address details
Sufficient funds in your account
A routing code if applicable
Your beneficiary account details

If you need to add a new beneficiary, here's how. When you add a new beneficiary, you need to wait 24 hours before you can make a transfer to them.

Set up standing instructions

You can also set up recurring payments to payees or beneficiaries already on your list. You can change these instructions at any time.

Choose one of the following options:

Processing time

Any request received before 2:00 PM, Monday to Saturday will be processed on the same working day, subject to availability of funds and accuracy of details. Otherwise it will be processed the next working day at rates applicable during the time of processing.
If you place the request through the branch before 3:00 PM Monday to Saturday, it will be processed the same day.

Fees and charges

International transfers are free via Online Banking and Mobile Banking.
If you visit a branch to make the transfer, charges will be based on your banking package.

How much money can I transfer internationally in a day?

This depends on your Banking Package and transaction limit.

When I’m making an international transfer, I see the codes ‘BEN’, ‘SHA’ and ‘OUR’. What do they mean? How can I ensure that the recipient receives the full amount without any deductions?

You have the option to choose who pays the charges including Emirates NBD transfer charges, correspondent and beneficiary bank charges. You can opt to pay all charges, share the charges with the beneficiary (receiver) or ask the beneficiary to pay.

The beneficiary will be liable to pay all charges if you select the ‘BEN’ option. In this case, the amount will be deducted from the amount being remitted. If you select ‘SHA’, charges will be shared by both the sender and the beneficiary. If you select ‘OUR’, you (the sender) will pay all charges and the recipient receives the entire amount, except in countries that don’t have a charge-back system such as the USA.

Is it possible to get a special rate on international transfers?

Special rates are subject to a minimum transfer amount of USD/AED 500,000. For other currencies, the minimum amount is AED 100,000 equivalent. You can request for a special rate at your nearest branch or by contacting your dedicated relationship manager.

I entered the wrong information while making an international transfer. What can I do?

You can place a request to stop or cancel a transfer by calling +971 600 54 0000. Any exchange rate losses will be charged to you. Please keep in mind that most transfers can’t be recalled, but we’ll do our best to help you.

Can I set up a future dated and a recurring transfer?

Yes, you can place standing instructions to execute future dated, recurring transfers.
