Hareb Al Bastaki

After completing a hospitality degree, a banking career was never in my plans. But I realized banking was more than just numbers, and I could put my creativity and people skills to good use. I joined Emirates NBD via our Bedaya graduate program and I’ve never looked back.

Being promoted to a Partnership Manager role after just three and a half years was a big achievement. UAE Nationals get a lot of opportunities at Emirates NBD, so long as you show results. I’ve got two internal mentors; my Manager and our Head of Department. My HR Business Partner has also played a big role in my success. I’m really appreciative of that support network. 

I love meeting new and existing Liv. partners like Dubai Sports Council. It’s the best part of my job. Even internally, you get to meet a lot of people from all over the world at Emirates NBD. The diversity keeps things interesting.    

I still get time to put my hospitality degree to good use by cooking and baking at home. I can make anything, from comfort food to fine dining. My favorite is dish is scallops with lemon butter dressing and caviar but that’s for special occasions only. Of course, I can never go past a good dessert or decadent chocolate chip cookie either.
